will be surely lower than what we had in 2008. Sathyam sacked...Wipro banned from WB! and lots of Job cuts...so will definitely affect the 2009 placements.

i see that you are doing ur chemical engineering...
so my strong suggestion would be...DONT JOIN ANY IT COMPANY...
its apparently screwed up...and ur job is never permanent...
and chemical industry has a lotta scope...so try ur best to somehow get placed in some chemical related company...
Even if you are unable to do that, do some higher studies and then try for placements....but pleased dont try for any IT company...
